An educational video for high school students about the growing digital divide and how it’s further perpetuated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Youtube video about digital divide.

What is it?

Digital divide is a term that refers to the gap between those who have access to the internet and its information, and those who don’t have access.

It’s important to be aware of the digital divide because it deprives vulnerable and marginalized communities of education and social rights.

Final thoughts

Access to the internet and its information is a human right, however, the way our society functions, and ignores vulnerable and marginalized communities makes it a privilege.

We as a society have to recognize that digital divide is a problem, and it’s important to actively participate or pressure governments to prioritize internet accessibility.
